Lynell Oliver Baker Memorial Scholarship

Up to three $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating females from Suffolk Public High Schools this year in honor of Lynell Oliver Baker.

The award will be presented at the end of the school year during the Senior Awards ceremony at the recipients' high school.

Scholarship Eligibility and Conditions

Females graduating from any of the Suffolk Public High Schools.

Winners are recognized for their academics, athletic participation, involvement in school clubs and activities, church and community service, and financial need. Candidates must have been accepted to a college or university for post-secondary study.

The Lynell Oliver Baker Memorial Scholarship was created in 1989 by her friends and family to honor her memory, and to reward the characteristics in others that made Lynell stand out to those who loved her.
This scholarship was created to help further the education of special girls like Lynell who excel both academically and athletically, and are actively involved in their school and community.
