The Linly Heflin Scholarship Committee receives applications in January each year from Alabama women seeking help with their undergraduate degree at 4-year accredited Alabama colleges and universities.

Scholarship Eligibility and Conditions

Specific criteria are used in the selection process and students must maintain a minimum G.P.A. to continue receiving the scholarship.

Following the interviews, the Scholarship Committee makes its selection and the scholarship recipients are notified.

About The Linly Heflin Unit

The Linly Heflin Unit was founded in 1919 as a women’s service organization. Since 1923 the major focus of the group has been to further the education of young women in Alabama. The Linly Heflin Unit is small in number- only 125 women- but each is dedicated to sharing her time and abilities.

Through the years, over 3,000 four-year scholarships have been awarded to Alabama girls attending Alabama colleges and universities.
