The Elmer and Rosa Lee Collins Scholarship was established in September 2006 by Elmer H. Collins to provide a college scholarship to a worthy graduating high school senior from a Forsyth County high school who will attend an accredited four-year college or university.
The scholarship may provide a $3,000 renewable award for four consecutive years. Scholarships will be applied to the cost of tuition, fees, room and board, and other college expenses.
This $3,000 four-year renewable scholarship is for deserving graduating seniors from Forsyth County high schools.
• attend a Forsyth County high school and reside in The Winston-Salem's Foundation service area
• be a graduating high school senior
• have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 and a transcript reflecting a challenging course selection
• demonstrate financial need, but not restricted to lower incomes (student's merit will be considered to a greater degree)
• demonstrates character and purpose as evidenced in school, community, church, and work activities
